Water Infrastructure Group Wins Award for Rehabilitation Project of the Year

Water Infrastructure Group's Bondi Ocean Outfall Sewer (BOOS) Rehabilitation project, which involved rehabilitating 911 metres of sewer with two different relining technologies for Sydney Water, won this year's Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology (ASTT) Rehabilitation Project of the Year -Award.

The project began in January 2010 and is part of Sydney Water's $A560 million SewerFix Program to improve the sewerage system and help protect community health, the local environment and beaches.

At the launch of the new plant in June, Eurobodalla Shire Mayor Fergus Thomson said that there was no doubt that Water Infrastructure Group had delivered state of the art technology.

Contract in Canberra

Water Infrastructure Group has started work on rehabilitation of a section of Canberra's Main Outfall Sewer (MOS) in Weston ACT.

ActewAGL, who manage the ACT's water network on behalf of ACTEW Corporation, engaged Water Infrastructure Group to rehabilitate the 458 metre section of the MOS between Cotter Road and Lady Denman Drive in the Equestrian Park using Water Infrastructure Group's proprietary Panel Lok PVC lining system.

Water Infrastructure Group is part of an Australian taskforce working in Christchurch to help restore the city’s sewerage system.

More than 80% of Christchurch’s water and sewerage systems were severely damaged by the devastating earthquakes in September 2010 and February 2011.

Water Infrastructure Group redeployed resources so that a team of seven skilled operators and three trucks equipped for CCTV camera and water jetting work could travel to New Zealand.

Water Infrastructure awarded major sewer rehabilitation contract in Sydney

Water Infrastructure Group has been awarded a $5.6 million contract to rehabilitate a large sewer known as the Canterbury Bankstown Submain for Sydney Water.

This challenging project involves the rehabilitation of four sections of the sewer, totalling 2.1 km from High Street, Canterbury to the Wolli Creek Aqueduct in Earlwood in Sydney's south west.

Western Downs Regional Council’s state-of-the-art Wastewater Recycling Treatment Plantwon the 2010 Institute of Public Works Engineering Excellence Award for Water Projects up to $5 million.

The $2.35 million Class A+ water recycling plant was designed and built by Water Infrastructure Group. The project was an augmentation to the existing Dalby Wastewater Treatment Plant.....

Water Infrastructure Group Develops Safer and Faster Sewer Rehabilitation System for Sydney Water

Water Infrastructure Group has developed a mechanical spiral winding system for their patented Panel Lok PVC lining system. This system was specifically developed for the rehabilitation of the Berkeley Carrier in the Illawarra Region for Sydney Water. The Panel Lok liner is being installed to the full circumference of the DN 1676 mm reinforced concrete pipe, which will require temporary flow isolations and bypass pumping for some sections. To improve safety and delivery of the project, Water Infrastructure Group developed a mechanical spiral winding machine that has reduced the number of personnel and the length of time they are required to be in the confined space....

10 years of recycled water use at Water Infrastructure Group's Virginia Pipeline Scheme

Water Infrastructure Group's Virginia Pipeline Scheme in Adelaide celebrates 10 years of operations this month. The Scheme commenced operations in October 1999 and was Australia's first major water recycling scheme to irrigate over 20 different crops, including many fresh vegetables. Today, the scheme remains Australia's, and one of the world's, largest high-quality water recycling initiatives of its kind. Since it began, the scheme has provided farmers with over 100GL of Class A recycled water fit for the purpose of irrigating food crops which can be eaten raw, during a period which has been one of the driest on record in some parts of Australia.

Water Infrastructure Group has commenced construction of the $24 million Northern Water Treatment Plant for Eurobodalla Shire Council on the NSW south coast. Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Water, Dr Mike Kelly, officiated at a sod turning ceremony for the new treatment facility on 10 November 2009. The Australian Government contributed $5 million to the project, which is scheduled for completion in late 2010.

Water Infrastructure Group has been awarded contracts from Sydney Water to undertake $9 million rehabilitation projects for the Bondi Ocean Outfall Sewer and the Northern Suburbs Ocean Outfall Sewer Gore Creek and Burns Bay aqueducts. The Bondi outfall sewer is over 900 metres in length and constructed in rock tunnel and wet sand trench. It has deteriorated from a combination of normal aging.....
